Xbox is a video gaming brand created and owned by Microsoft. The brand consists of five video game consoles, games, streaming services, an online service by the name of Xbox network, and the development arm by the name of Xbox Game Studios.

Recently the CEO of Microsoft Xbox, Phil Spencer, accidentally revealed a probable Xbox game streaming device. With the game streaming device market growing exponentially nowadays, it is no surprise that Microsoft is stepping into the market. But as no previous news was leaked about this type of device from them, the reveal was a big surprise for the gaming world.

In this article, we will discuss what we can assume from the reveal and what you might expect from Microsoft in the future.

Xbox Game Streaming Device Accidental Reveal

The photo was posted to congratulate Bethesda Game Studios for the 25th anniversary of its post-apocalyptic role-playing video game series Fallout. Spencer proudly showed off a statue of Vault Boy on his shelving unit alongside other gaming memorabilia. However, fans noticed an eye-catching white figure sitting comfortably next to Xbox Series Controller. You might mistake it for an Xbox Series S at a glance, but the size gives it away. It is much smaller than any other known Xbox hardware product.

Microsoft announced in 2021 that it was planning to release the streaming product, but it was never seen in the flesh. The official Xbox account followed up to confirm that this is a prototype hardware Spencer probably should have moved before taking the picture.

Following a leak last year, Microsoft confirmed the existence of a device known as Keystone.

Keystone console’s main highlight is to provide fans with a much more affordable gaming device that can handle internet game streaming. It will be integrated with Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Cloud Gaming, giving players an excellent alternative to expensive conventional consoles and gaming PCs. Aside from Xbox Cloud Gaming service capabilities, word has it that the Keystone streaming console will even include a feature allowing users to access Netflix, Hulu, and other streaming apps, making it more attractive to casual gamers.

But it is not yet sure what that white object was. But it’s for sure that the whole world was hyped up to see the accidental reveal. Now it’s just a long wait to see what Microsoft has in store for us in the future.
