Honkai: Star Rail is the latest RPG game by HoYoverse. As the creators of the most famous RPG, Genshin Impact, HoYoverse has included many similar features between the games. From the anime aesthetic graphics to a lot of gameplay details.
Like Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail also follows a gacha system called Warp. The terms used in the games might be different, but the banner mechanism of these systems are very similar. The in-game currency is used to do the gacha pull and obtain high-value rewards.
However, if you are new to the world of HoYoverse, this guide will provide you with detailed information on the whole gacha system of Honkai: Star Rail and the ways to pull five-star characters.
Honkai: Star Rail Gacha System
Just like Genshin Impact, players can obtain new Characters and Light Cones in Honkai: Star Rail mostly via the gacha system. The gacha banners in Honkai: Star Rail are referred to as Warp. Players will need either Stellar Jades, the currency used in the gacha, or Passes/Special Passes, which are the gacha tickets, to roll on the gacha banners.
Stellar Jades can be converted into a Pass or a Special Pass by exchanging 160 of them. These passes are used on both Beginner Warp and the Standard Warp; while pulling the Character Oriented Warp and the Light Cone Oriented Warp, Special Passes are required.
The following items can be pulled from the gacha system in Honkai: Star Rail.
- 3-star Light Cones
- 4-star Light Cones
- 5-star Light Cones
- 4-star Characters
- 5-star Characters
Departure Warp

Players are limited to 50 pulls in this Warp. This Warp guarantees the players a 5-star character with a rate of 0.6%. On the other hand, the rate for pulling a 4-star Character from this banner is 5.1%. There is only one chance to earn a 5-star character here.
One of the following seven heroes can be obtained as a 5-star character from this banner.
- Bailu
- Bronya
- Clara
- Gepard
- Himeko
- Welt
- Yanqing
Stellar Warp

There is no increased rate of receiving any character or light cones in this Warp. But it still allows the players to receive a five-star character. Five-star characters who can be pulled through this banner include:
- Bailu
- Yanqing
- Bronya
- Clara
- Gepard
- Himeko
- Welt
The 5-star light cones available for the pull from this banner are.
- Sleep Like the Dead
- Moment of Victory
- The Battle Isn’t Over
- In the Name of the World
- Night on the Milky Way
- Time Waits for No One
Character Event Warp

If you manage to pull a 5-star character, you have a chance of gaining one at a rate of 50%, but if you fail, you have a chance of gaining one at a rate of 100% for the second 5-star character you pull. You will have the opportunity to get a 5-star character within the first 90 pulls, but if you don’t have the chance to do so, you will have to continue pulling for the subsequent 180 pulls.
Light Cone-Oriented Warp

Light Cone banners may provide you with three 4-star Light Cones and one 5-star light cone, each with a pulling rate of 6.6% and 0.8%, respectively. Once you have to pull a 5-star Light Cone, you have a 75% chance of a rate up one, and if you lose it, the rate up one will increase to 100% for the second 5-star light cone. A five-star rating is certain within the first 80 pulls, but if you don’t get it, you have to continue pulling for another 160 times.
