Bloodborne is an action role-playing game developed by FromSoftware and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 4. It is a PS-exclusive game means that it cannot be played elsewhere unless you’re using a PS emulator.
The game was very popular and also got a lot of positive feedback, mostly because of its dark atmospheric environment and absolutely gorgeous visuals. The game is set in the Gothic, Victorian-era–inspired city of Yharnam, whose inhabitants are afflicted with a blood-borne disease. Hence the name Bloodborne. This paved the way for many other modern aRPG games for the console we can play today.
In this article, we will discuss about how a rip-off Bloodborne game from an unknown publisher made its way to the Google Play Store and started scamming the players for membership with real money. So give it a good read and stay careful of the scammers.
Bloodborne Mobile Game Scam
A so-called mobile games publisher called Rock Great Games recently registered Bloodborne mobile in the google play store with the Australian Classification Board. The game developers have no usual site or trace anywhere on the internet.
They released the game in the Google Play store recently, and the mobile game community was completely shocked as there were no leaks or anything of that sort about this game. But soon, everyone realized the game was not original. The game is not a rip-off as, well. It was just a money-gathering scam.
There is no gameplay, no menu, or anything in the game. All the game wants is for you to pay for the membership in order to play the game. A “Weekly Premium” costs £8.49 – the equivalent of $9.74 USD. Meanwhile, the “Annual” option boasts a £16.99 price tag (or $19.49 USD).
The incident has grown larger than a scam now as the game directly links to Sony, one of the business giants. So, it is expected that Sony will take the necessary steps to shut down the game and other actions as soon as possible. Meanwhile, it is advised that everyone should recheck what they are downloading from the game stores as this type of scam is everywhere.
