Diablo franchise is one of the most famous game franchises in the history of gaming. The franchise released its first mobile version, Diablo: Immortal, in June this year. Since then, the game has peaked at the top of the popularity charts of the mobile gaming industry.
Blizzard Entertainment and NetEase created Diablo Immortal, a free-to-play, massively multiplayer online action role-playing video game. The fast-paced, arcade-type game is highly similar to Diablo III; however, while it has Diablo III’s striking graphic design, the game’s tone is more in line with Diablo II’s darker aesthetic. It has isometric graphics that are typical of the series.
The announcement of Diablo Immortal did not pick up much positive appreciation as the game was highly anticipated to be released for PC first. The game was released on June 2 in countries outside APAC. The game was released on July 8 in APAC and July 25 in China.
But the game saw one of the biggest releases of any MMORPG game for mobile. With over 10 million downloads, Immortal had the greatest launch in the franchise’s history. By the end of July 2022, it had amassed 30 million downloads.

Blizzard is constantly adding a lot of new content to the game, including new dungeons and many more things. The player base of the game is also increasing rapidly day by day. Although the game was heavily criticized for its monetization process, it seems to not affect the game’s player count.

Diablo Immortal is increasing its player base more and more as time goes by. With its ever-growing content, the game will most likely keep on attracting more and more players with time. However, this game’s success has shown only in the first few months after release is really something outstanding.
